RE/MAX OF
KANSAS CITY
HONORED AS
CHILDREN’S MIRACLE
NETWORK
OFFICE OF THE YEAR IN
MISSOURI
KANSAS
CITY
,
Mo.
– RE/MAX of
Kansas City
was recently honored as the 2004 Children’s Miracle Network
Office of the Year at the RE/MAX Mid-States Kansas and Missouri
Awards Celebration held February 2, 2005, at the downtown
Marriott Muehlebach Hotel.
RE/MAX
of
Kansas City
contributed more donations than any other RE/MAX office in
Missouri
. The donations
benefit the Children’s
Mercy
Hospitals
and Clinics, as well as the KU Medical Center. Both hospitals
are affiliated with the Children’s Miracle Network of 170
hospitals in
North America
that pride themselves on treating the whole child.
“Helping
families is what we do for a living,” says Greg Koons,
Broker/Owner of RE/MAX of
Kansas City
. “CMN and RE/MAX have been committed partners in this effort
for the past 20 years.”
With
nearly 50 RE/MAX offices throughout the state, RE/MAX of
Kansas City
launched an aggressive campaign in 2004 to increase their annual
donations. One new
fundraising initiative, named RE/MAX Kickin’ for Kids, raised
$25,000 during a one-day citywide soccer juggling competition
held at Arrowhead Stadium on September 25, 2004.
“The
event was about kids helping kids,” says Leo Sebus, event
organizer and sales associate at RE/MAX of
Kansas City
. “For these kids, I can’t think of a better way for them to
help other children than by doing something they love to do –
playing soccer.”
In
addition to the office being honored as the CMN Office of the
Year, Sebus was named Children’s Miracle Network Individual of
the Year in
Missouri
in recognition of his personal contributions and efforts with
RE/MAX Kickin’ for Kids.
“Leo
is a wonderful person who cares about his community,” says
Steve Aulgur, RE/MAX Mid-States Regional Director.
“He touches the lives of children every day in his
personal and professional life.
His efforts with Kickin’ for Kids this past year have
proven he is willing to go to extraordinary measures to help the
children of
Kansas City
.”
The
2005 Second Annual RE/MAX Kickin’ for Kids is scheduled for
October 1, 2005, at Arrowhead Stadium prior to the start of the
Kansas City Wizards and Chicago Fire soccer game.
